Reflection:
The healing of the man born blind is a powerful metaphor for spiritual enlightenment. While the Pharisees—who claim to see—are rendered blind by their arrogance, the man who was blind physically recognizes Jesus as the Son of Man.
Paul tells us that we are "light in the Lord" and must "walk as children of light". This involves exposing the "unfruitful works of darkness" and allowing Christ’s light to transform our perspectives.
The miracle is not just physical sight; it is the progressive faith of the man, who moves from knowing Jesus as "the man" to recognizing him as a prophet, and finally as Lord.
We are invited to examine where we are spiritually blind—perhaps in our judgments, pride, or unwillingness to see the truth. The season encourages us to wash in the "pool" of repentance and receive new sight to see God’s works
Prayer: Lord, open our eyes to see your glory and recognize your presence in our lives. Help us acknowledge our spiritual blindness and receive your healing touch. May we, like the man born blind, come to know you as the Son of God and worship you with all our hearts. Amen
