Catching Fireflies: Quilt Collage Drop-In
Advertisement
Featuring artists and sisters Participants will create a small improvisational quilt-inspired collage using fabric scraps, patterned paper, and mixed media materials. Inspired by family traditions, childhood memories, and the storytelling found in quilts, participants will piece together colors, textures, and shapes to create a unique composition that reflects a place, person, or memory that feels like home. No sewing experience is required. The focus is on creative exploration, storytelling, and finding beauty in imperfection. Each participant will leave with their own completed mini quilt collage (approximately 5x7 or 8x8 inches) mounted on cardstock or canvas panel, ready to frame or display. Along the way, participants will be encouraged to reflect on the people, traditions, and spaces that have shaped them. This is a drop-in workshop. Participants can join at any time during the scheduled event and work at their own pace. Materials will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis but attendees are welcome to bring additional materials!
Open to all ages. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult. The workshop is beginner-friendly and designed for anyone interested in art, storytelling, and creative play.
Drop-In Tuition: $15
