The Sainte Genevieve is honored to welcome acclaimed violinist Casey McGrath and her electrifying one-woman show, Fiddlerock!, to the upper deck for an unforgettable evening of music against the backdrop of autumn colors on the Illinois River.
Praised for her “sensitive and soulful interpretations” and a “tone reminiscent of the greats of the past” (Chronicle Musique), Casey bridges the worlds of classical and popular music with dazzling artistry. Fiddlerock! takes timeless rock and pop classics and transforms them through the power of violin—merging symphonic lyricism with innovative arrangements that are as exciting as they are moving.
From Kansas to Sam Smith, Metallica to Guns N’ Roses, and even Tool to Led Zeppelin, Casey blends the brilliance of her classical training with the heart of modern music. With Fiddlerock!, she doesn’t just play songs—she connects artist and audience, creating an experience that resonates across generations, cultures, and genres.
Casey holds a Master’s of Music in violin performance from the Cincinnati Conservatory and a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has served as a concertmaster, soloist, chamber musician, tango violinist, and college faculty member, and is also the author of Performance Anxiety Strategies: A Musician’s Guide to Managing Stage Fright.
Launched in 2018 with her partner A.J. (sound, lighting, and production), The Fiddlerock! Project continues to captivate audiences across the Midwest with its versatility, accessibility, and undeniable energy.
