DJ RA Rabbil Ngwije
He has been teaching with me and alone in Norway many times and is a regular guest and a special support in Casa da Tone. Now he teach in festivals and give regular classes all around Europe. I love his way of dancing and his knowledge about music and the history of music and dance. This time we are lucky to have him here as a DJ.
Originally from Burundi, Rabbil Ngwije aka Dj RA has turned his immense music love and knowledge into an irreplaceable passion.
His versatile style conquers everyone who has a chance to listen to his music selection.
The dance floor will be delighting your hearts, because for him, music is life itself.
He also organizes a super kizomba festival in Belgium in the spring, Kizomba Treat, which I really recommend to join
DJ Steve Moraine
One of our best local DJs who really knows the music suitable for a real kizomba party. He is also a skilled dancer and has been to more festivals the you can imagine, both as dancer and as a DJ.
Gabriel Cabinda
I have met Gabriel in Angola several times and really admire the important work he does to help us understand what kizomba really is. My travels to Angola would not be the same without his support.
2011 national champion of Kizomba and Semba is a leading figure in promoting Angolan dance culture. As the organizer of the Angolandances Festival, one of the largest festivals dedicated to Angolan culture, Gabriel brings together dancers from around the world to celebrate Kizomba and Semba with top-tier workshops, performances, and competitions.
He is also the creator of the RSK - Street Competition, a dynamic event that showcases urban dance, allowing young talents and professionals to express themselves in Kizomba and Semba. Through Kizomba na Rua Lisboa, Gabriel brings Angolan dance to the streets of Lisbon, offering an accessible and authentic cultural experience.
Devoted to sharing Angolan culture, Gabriel Cabinda serves as a true ambassador of African dance, raising global recognition for Kizomba and Semba
Rashida Forbes
I know Rashida, as a teacher and friend, from the many times I visited London to learn and dance kizomba. London was really the capital of kizomba in Europe for many many years and have very meny good teachers and dancers and a lot of places to dance proper kizomba. Rashida is one the teachers who kept this tradition alive for many years.
Rashida is originally from the French West Indies and grew up on partner dances such as zouk, Kompa, boyoun as well as dance hall and soca. She discovered Cuban Salsa nearly 20 yrs ago and Kizomba about 18 yrs ago.
Effectively Rashida has been dancing since the womb!
She is an accomplished dancer in her own right and has very quickly become a much loved and sought after Kizomba teacher. She credits her talent and progress in Kizomba to the learning, guidance and support she has received from many of the great names in the Kizomba world. You can however see that what sets her apart is her unquestionable desire and passion for the dance and her love for the music and culture of the Palop community as well as her God given gift of being a natural born dancer 🙂
And me Tone Pettersen
I have been dancing various dances from young age but from age 17 I fell in love with latin, caribbean and african dances. Tango, salsa, bachata and many others. I dances traditional west african dance for years and also lots of social African dances through many years. Together with my African (now ex) husband she organised african dance clubs in Oslo in the eighties.
When I "met" kizomba around 14 years ago it was like my love for the music we dance kizomba to and the dance itself brought me home. I have danced around in Europe, especially London and Lisbon and also supported and also organized Casa da Tone weekends in Oslo before the pandemic. I also went to Angola three times, one month each time, to learn and understand more about kizomba/semba and the culture around these lovely dances. Now I am giving my own classes in Oslo with my special way of teaching and also invite to Casa da Tone weekends regularly.
