Join CASA of Western Oklahoma as we begin our Book Club with Tamra's pick, "Now I Am Known" by Peter Mutabazi."I was captivated by Peter’s story of survival; first from an abusive father, then from the savageness of the unforgiving streets to which he escaped. Much like the children we work with, he became resourceful and he built walls around himself out of necessity. BUT, one man saw him one day; and took the time to see him another and then again and again. One person can truly make a difference! He did not let his trauma define him; instead, he sought to become that one person to see a previously “invisible” person." -- Tamra
Peter Mutabazi founded Now I Am Known, an organization that supplies resources to support vulnerable children. Originally from Uganda, Peter ran away from an abusive home at age ten and lived as a street kid for nearly five years. Today, Peter is a single dad to countless foster children and his adopted children, Anthony, Ryder, and Skyler.
