The Ride Formerly Known as "CBC Sunday Morning Ride"
This is the classic Richmond fast Sunday group ride, and is intended to be a challenging workout with two hard 15-20min efforts over the 40 mile ride.
We meet at 8am in the parking lot at the corner of Cary St and Belmont Ave in Carytown. Ride follows the same structure every week:
- Neural Rollout out of the city. Ride together, stop at all red lights, obey traffic rules. Short stop at Osborne Turnpike for nature break
- Osborne --> Kingsland Section: this is the first hard. Approx 20min. Rotating paceline with a final sprint at the corner of Kingsland and WRVA road.
- Neutral through Battlefield park with short stop at Charles City Road for nature break
- Charles City Road Section: second hard effort. Approx 15min. Rotating paceline with a final sprint before railroad crossing at Monahan Road.
- Neural back into the city
This is a full drop ride with average speeds around 15-20mph in the neutral sections and 25mph+ in the harder efforts. This is designed to be a challenging ride. If you get dropped, come back the following week and try to hang on longer.
Riders should have the route saved and be able to navigate home if they drop off the group.
Ride is canceled if it is raining.
