Carving Art Stone aka Hebel -2nd session.
About this Event
Participants who attended the first session in October are welcome to return to complete their projects. Those attending for the first time are also welcome.
This workshop is for sculptors at all levels from first time beginners wanting to find out how to carve in art-stone (hebel) to experienced artists looking for regular studio space and time to practice and enjoy the company of other sculptors and creatives.
The venue is the Sculptors Shed in the grounds behind the Old Museum in Bowen Hills. Parking is not guaranteed but should not be a problem at that time.
Facilitator Hermann Schraut is a very experienced sculptor, working in a wide range of media. He is able to discuss a wide range of sculpture media and techniques as well as Art Stone if requested.
Materials and basic tools will be provided, but if you have tools such as a flat end screw driver, metal scraper, surforms or wood files, please bring them. There will be some art stone available, but you are encouraged to bring some - available from Bunnings at around $10 a block. For your protection and comfort, please wear suitable (old) clothing, closed in shoes, gloves, mask and eye protection glasses.
There is no fee for members of Sculptors Queensland (FREE). Non-members are very welcome but a $30 fee applies.
However, non-members can join now at Shop - Sculptors QLD with code SQHOAOA27 (valid until 1 September 27) to get a $20 discount off new membership.
If you can no longer attend, PLEASE remember to cancel your registration on Eventbrite so that others on the waiting list can register - numbers are limited ;)
