About this Event

Get ready for an energetic journey with Black Grace, New Zealand’s leading contemporary dance company, as they fuse traditional Samoan and Māori dance with contemporary styles. Artistic Director Neil Ieremia draws on three key Samoan principles—Fa'amaoni (integrity and pride), Fa'amalosi/Loto Tele (perseverance and determination), and Fa'aloalo (humility and respect)—to shape the company’s powerful choreography. Dancers also share the cultural traditions behind their work and demonstrate how these influences come together through movement, rhythm, and storytelling. Best for grades 5-12
