WENATCHEE, WAYou said it — when it comes to bullying enough is enough.
A few of us are working on a fundraiser car show on May 17th for a Wenatchee family who's son recently took his own life over bullying.
A show like this matters because it reminds that family they’re not standing alone. Sometimes just showing up, sharing a hug, or saying “we see you, we’re with you” carries more weight than any donation could. That’s a real community.
Bullying thrives in silence. The more of us who speak up when we see it — in schools, online, wherever — the harder it gets for it to keep happening. And you’re right: schools need to hear from us. One call can be ignored. A community demanding action can’t be.
How we can all help right now:
• Show up: Attend the event, bring friends, fill the area. Presence is power. • Speak up: If you see bullying, say something in the moment. Report it. Follow up until someone listens. • Support the family: Write a card, share a memory, drop off a meal, or just sit with them. Kindness is free and it sticks.
If you want help spreading the word about the show —share this with your Wenatchee friends and family and show up! And, if you have a cool car, register and bring it to the show.
