This will be an event that lasts approximately 2/2.5 hours, not including travel time. There will be a section where I teach some about Appalachian Folk Magic traditions in relation to water. Be mindful, Appalachian folk magic is a blend of Old World Scotch-Irish traditions, West African Practices, and Cherokee, Catawba, and Saura Indigenous beliefs merged with Protestant Christianity. Think of thinks that you no longer want to carry to release. This can range from a habit to a situation, to a person, to grief. It is used in many different circumstances. The event includes the opportunity to either purchase and bring or you can prepare some sort of food item (think snack, not meal) to nourish our bodies and spirit first and reserve some as an offering for the river and surrounding land and their spirits as well as any lost souls that may wander the waterway. This ritual will be on Saturday, June 15th at Twilight. We will meet at the back of the parking lot at Walmart in Mocksville, NC at 5:30 pm and carpool to the River Access Boat Ramp in Mocksville. (No parking for 20 cars) Sunset is at 8:40 pm. We will release at twilight, have a short session celebrating the release through voice, after the ritual, singing the old hymn “Down to the River to Pray”, if you choose to participate or you may choose to wait at the cars for us. DM me for details on how to secure your spot before they are gone. #witchtok #winstonsalem #triadwitchesandpagans #eventsnearme #ritual #appalachian folk magic Message me for information on how to get your ticket!
