Local musician and teacher, Jocelyn Pharr Thompson, joins Carolina Pro Musica as they present their 7th annual workshop on writing lyrics and music for songs. All interested persons are welcome including songwriters, poets, lyricists and musicians. Bring your texts or music ideas to share with others and get new ideas. Bring your guitar or use the piano that will be available onsite. Program to be hosted in the Carol K. Reinhardt Auditorium.
Karen Jacob is the founder and director of Carolina Pro Musica and a member of the Belmont Abbey College faculty. Carolina Pro Musica, founded in 1977, performs “early music” using period instruments and voice in the styles of the musical periods in which it was written.
Jocelyn Pharr Thompson is a retired public school music teacher of 38 years and currently teaches at the Gaston School of the Arts.
