Carole Pope and Kevan Staples’ band Rough Trade was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame in 2023. On the Polaris Prize short list, Carole Pope is an agent provocateur pushing the boundaries of sexuality, sexual politics, and the status quo. Her work has been recognized with three JUNO Awards, multiple independent music awards, a Genie Award, four gold, one platinum and one double platinum album. Her latest singles “I Miss My Land” and “Play Fisty For Me” are available everywhere.
A documentary on Carole’s life based on her autobiography Anti Diva produced by the CBC and Gay Agenda is just hitting screens and festivals now. Guests include kd lang, Peaches, Sebastian Bach, Rufus Wainwright, Nona Hendryx, Strombo, Jan Arden and more. Pope is currently looking for producers for “Rough Trade The Musical” starring Chilina Kennedy.
