The Village of Carol Stream, in partnership with the Carol Stream Park District and the Carol Stream Public Library, is thrilled to introduce our 2024 Tree Lighting Extravaganza! This year’s event will feature new activities, new traditions, and special guests to delight residents and kick off the holiday season. This cherished event, now expanded to offer an even more festive experience, symbolizes the spirit of community that defines our Carol Stream village.We welcome residents and neighbors to join us Friday, December 6, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Town Center as we celebrate the holiday season’s arrival.
Enjoy singing along with the talented West Chicago High School choir as they kick off the evening with carols, and witness Santa’s magical arrival as he lights up the brand-new village tree! Delight in performances from Carol Stream Park District dancers, POMS, and MINI POMS.
Stop by the petting zoo, where kids can meet furry friends including a goat, sheep, bunny, and a baby bull, and ride a miniature pony. Visit the S’mores station and the hot cocoa station to warm up with a sweet treat, and take home cookies and a craft kit to make an ornament or bookmark at home.
While you explore, enjoy storyboards that bring to life the storybook The Mitten by Jan Brett, take photos with handcrafted “snow people”, and enjoy a beautiful display of Brittany’s Trees, which honor a local legacy of love and light and support heart health awareness.
Join us right at 6 p.m. so you don’t miss Santa’s magical arrival and watch him light the tree at 6:05 p.m.!

6:00 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. West Chicago High School choir performs
6:05pm – Santa arrives and turns on the lights!
6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Petting Zoo, smores, hot cocoa, cookies, and crafts
6:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Santa greets and takes photos with kids and families
