Come to craft day at the MAC! Open to all kids! Kick off the celebration of Carnivale in Manitou by creating a shoebox float at the Manitou Art Center! Shoebox floats have been a school tradition in the South for many years. Students will grab a shoebox and make a fanciful float for a one-of-a-kind parade.This year's Manitou Springs Carnivale has the theme All You Need Is Love!. Students may tie the theme to their float or just don it in purple, green, and gold.
Bring: Your parents and anything special you want to add to your float - riders, adornments, etc. The boxes will be provided, along with glue and additional craft materials.
When: Jan 24, 2026 1 pm -4 pm. Kids must have a parent and may come at any time within the timeframe.
