Looking for an unforgettable night of live classical music in Orange County? Pacific Chorale opens its 2026–27 season with the raw energy, driving rhythms, and massive sound of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, including its instantly recognizable opening, “O Fortuna.”
Experience this audience favorite as you’ve never heard it before: in a new chamber orchestration that brings its voices, percussion, and theatrical intensity into even sharper focus.
The program also features the North American premiere of Tarik O’Regan’s Critical Mass, built around the “Agnus Dei” personally commissioned by King Charles III for his 2023 Coronation at Westminster Abbey and heard by millions around the world. O’Regan expands that music into a powerful new Mass exploring anger and forgiveness, belief, light, and peace.
Rounding the evening out is the world premiere of “I Am America,” a new Pacific Chorale commission by GRAMMY® Award-winning composer Starr Parodi.
Pacific Chorale, Pacific Symphony, the Southern California Children’s Chorus, all join under conductor Robert Istad for a bold opening night at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.
Perfect for fans of Carmina Burana, dramatic orchestral music, choral concerts, and exhilarating live performances.
