Georges Bizet’s Carmen is one of the most frequently performed and iconic operas in the world. Set in 19th-century Seville, Spain, this four-act opéra comiquetells the tragic story of a fiery, free-spirited gypsy woman and the obsessive, destructive jealousy of a naïve soldier, Don José.
