Raised in Berkeley, California, this powerhouse vocalist and songwriter brings her signature blend of R&B and classic soul to the stage in a performance that bridges legacy and originality.As a teenager, Carmen sang for Teena Marie on her tour bus in Oakland, where the late legend listened closely, and said the words that would shape her destiny: “Don’t stop.” Those words became the heartbeat of her artistry and inspired her to later create The Ultimate Teena Marie Tribute, the first and only tribute supported by Teena’s family, friends, and loyal fans. What began as an homage evolved into a powerful live experience that celebrated Teena’s legacy while introducing Carmen’s own soul-driven artistry.
Now, that journey comes full circle with Echoes of 1986, a heartfelt fusion of vintage soul energy and modern R&B production. Carmen’s unmistakable voice soars over lush grooves and melodic storytelling, blending emotional depth with the spirit of resilience and renewal.
