Carmen In Riyadh

Carmen, composed by Georges Bizet in 1875, stands as one of the most celebrated works in the history of opera. This four-act masterpiece has captivated audiences for nearly a century and a half with its powerful score, unforgettable arias, and dramatic tale of love, freedom, jealousy, and betrayal. 

Set in the vibrant streets of Seville, the story follows Carmen, a free-spirited woman whose fiery independence and allure ignite a passionate and ultimately tragic romance with the soldier Don José.

For the very first time in Saudi Arabia, this legendary production will be performed in Riyadh under the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, brought to life by the renowned China National Opera House. 

The staging of Carmen in the Kingdom marks a milestone in cultural exchange, as it forms part of the official 2025 Saudi–China Cultural Year, celebrating 35 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
