Come volunteer at Vale Cemetery for this year's statewide Caring For Your Cemetery Day.Caring For Your Cemetery Day is a statewide initiative from the NYS Division of Cemeteries with the goal of promoting volunteerism at cemeteries like Vale. 2026 marks the third year of the program and Vale's second year of participation.
We'll start at 10:00 am and will be picking up litter, raking, clearing fallen branches, and otherwise giving the Cemetery grounds a “spring cleaning.”
We hope to have a limited number of headstone cleaning supplies available as well; watch for details.
If possible, please bring work gloves, rakes (plastic only to protect the headstones), trash bags and handled grabbers, leaf blowers, plastic paint scrapers and spray bottles of water. We also welcome donations of supplies.
Don’t forget to dress for the weather, bring water, and wear appropriate footwear for working outdoors.
