🕒 12 - 3 PM
In recognition of National Indigenous History Month, we invite Indigenous participants to join artist Zoe Ann Cardinal Cire for a special hands-on workshop exploring the art of caribou tufting.
Caribou tufting is a delicate textile practice in which small bundles of caribou hair are stitched onto a backing, then carefully trimmed and shaped to create soft, raised designs. Traditionally used to embellish clothing and accessories, the technique transforms natural materials into sculptural works rich with texture, care, and cultural knowledge.
Guided by the artist, participants will be introduced to this distinctive art form and create their own pair of caribou tufted earrings to take home. This intimate workshop offers a meaningful opportunity to learn, create, and connect through material, memory, and Indigenous artistic practice.
