Celebrating the Windrush generation and their descendants.

Saturday 13th June 8am

London joiners. 8am From Stratford, East London → Birmingham & the West Midlands

Leave appr 5pm Birmingham -> Stratford, East London

(Note: Birmingham joiners only. If you are joining us in Birmingham, please meet us at our first stop at 11am and join the coach. Address Sunrise Bakery, Woodlands St, birmingham B66 3TF. The last stop will be at Jerky Johns.)

Join us for a one-of-a-kind Caribbean cultural experience exploring iconic Caribbean bakeries, Pattie factories, legendary food spots and the best jerk chicken you’ll taste in the UK.

• Hidden Birmingham Caribbean history

Learn about:

  • the Windrush generation who built these businesses

  • why Caribbean families migrated to Britain
  • the legacy of Caribbean communities in Birmingham
  • the cultural significance of Handsworth Park within Birmingham’s Caribbean community
  • the life and legacy of Benjamin Zephaniah through Birmingham’s iconic mural dedicated to him
  • Birminghams iconic sound system culture

The tour will include food and drink tasting samples but full meals and pastries must be purchased seperately. Our aim is for attendees to support Caribbean owned businesses.

Please note this tour involves coach travel, walking between locations and visiting older community venues which may have limited accessibility. Unfortunately, this experience may not be suitable for individuals with severe food allergies due to the environments and food preparation settings involved. Please let us know in advance about any dietary requirements or allergies and we will do our best to accommodate where possible.


Vegetarian options are available at most stops except the last stop.
