Carers Scotland Highland Roadshow drop in event

Are you supporting someone in the Highland Council area? A parent, child, spouse/partner, friend or anyone who could not manage without your support? If so, join us at the Carers Scotland Highland Roadshow in Inverness.
Will you require transport to attend? Please let us know.

Do you need help filling in forms to access benefits, blue badge or other?
Do you need a referral to a particular service?
Do you need financial support or ant help to access grants?
Do you need legal support around managing someone’s affairs?
Would you like help applying for breaks and respite?
Are you (or the person you look after) struggling with mental health?

Access targeted support, speak directly to services, find out what’s available locally and get the support you need. To ensure you get the most out of the day and to help support service delivery, please bring along if you are able:
Photo ID & proof of address
Proof of Power of Attorney or Guardianship if available
A passport‑style photo if available

There will be staff around to support you and help you navigate the right services. Services include NHS Highlands, Highland Council Welfare Support, Connecting Carers, Citizen's Advice, BT, SSEN, Highlife Highland, Mikey's Line, Partners in Advocacy, Change Mental Health, Thriving Families, Mobilise, Red Chair Highland, Technology Enabled Care and many more.

The event will also include a range of information sessions you can join:

11:30am-12:30pm: Civil Legal Assistance Office – learn about Power of Attorney
12:30pm-1:00pm: BT – find out why BT are moving from traditional to digital landline and what it means for you
1:00pm-2:00pm: Carers Scotland – find out about your rights including Adult Carer Support Plans, hospital discharge, working rights, financial support and more
2:00pm-3:00pm: ARC Scotland – Change – ready or not! Additional support needs and the transition to adulthood workshop
3:00pm-4:00pm: Civil Legal Assistance Office – join a talk on Guardianship

There will also be free wellbeing activities throughout the day from Highlife Highland, Alzheimer’s Scotland and Connecting Carers, as well as relaxing wellbeing treatments.
