About this Event
Join Foyle Civic Trust in partnership with CITB NI for a 1-day conference exploring approaches to building conservation. Get insights into how to care for historic buildings, including maintenance, repair and retrofit. Speakers include representatives from the National Trust, Ulster Architectural Heritage, Department for Communities Historic Environment Division and McCollum Conservation. There will also be the opportunity to see heritage skills in action. Tea, coffee and a light lunch will be provided for delegates, with opportunities for networking.
This event is part of the Built Heritage Project led by Foyle Civic Trust and funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Who should attend?
This day conference is open to anyone wishing to learn more about different approaches to building conservation, from students and professionals to building owners and those responsible for maintenance.

About the Organisers
The Foyle Civic Trust was established in 1989 for the following purposes in the area comprising the District Councils of Derry, Limavady and Strabane in Northern Ireland and the Inishowen Peninsula in the Republic of Ireland:
- To promote high standards of planning and architecture
- To provide education in geography, history, natural history and architecture
- To secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest.
The Trust is managed on a voluntary basis by an executive committee and is a registered charity.
CITB NI is the the Industry Training Board for construction in Northern Ireland. CITB NI’s role is to encourage the adequate training of those employed or intending to be employed in the construction industry and to improve the skills and productivity of the industry, to deliver a safe, professional and fully qualified workforce across the whole of the construction industry in Northern Ireland.
