Join us for a training event learning to survey and ID Shrill Carder Bees and Brown-banded Carder Bees!
About this Event

As part of the Healthy Planet, Healthy People Project, Torfaen County Borough Council are running a variety of wildlife survey training events. This training is being delivered by Glo i Natur CIC’s founder Liam Olds.

You will learn how to survey and identify rarer bumblebee species, including the Shrill Carder Bee and Brown-banded Carder Bee. You will learn about their behaviour, key forage plants and colony cycles.

Order of events:

Please meet at Llwyncelyn Cemetery for a 10am start, there is plenty of parking available, W3W/ excuse.shot.lowest

The training will run from 10am-1pm, it will involve walking through the reserve.

Need to know:

This event is free to attend, with a capacity of 15 people.

Booking is essential, please book on Eventbrite or email [email protected]

Please bring yourself a drink and any ID guides you wish to use. We will have some ID resources to use.

Please dress appropriately for the weather with good walking shoes.

This event is weather dependent and may be rescheduled, you will be contacted if this happens.
