CaraVAN: Roots

Are you a contemporary visual artist based in the Highlands? Are you missing a peer network?

Then why not join Circus Artspace on Saturday 23rd November for the launch of CaraVAN - a new Contemporary Visual Artists Network in the Highlands. Our first meet-up in Inverness - Roots - will be a fun social with food and conversations about beginnings and connections. We will confirm the venue via email shortly.

Circus Artspace are thrilled to be able to continue our support for visual artists in the Highlands, thanks to the Create: Networks Fund we are able to launch this new opportunity for artists to come together in different locations across the Highlands.

"One of the key elements in sketching out our initial values and aims, as a voluntary artists’ collective 6 years ago, was to be part of a sustainable and vibrant network of practice. We recognised the need to retain emergent artists in the north of Scotland, and seek to provide a space to engage, learn and share with each other.”

The format for the night will include:

• Intro from us - why are we here and what is CaraVAN?
• An opportunity to meet our new cohort of Circus Associates
• Fictional biographies and a collaborative reading performance
• A delicious vegetarian dinner
• An opportunity to share what you are working on
• A chance to feed into our network mapping and the future of CaraVAN!
