On May 30 I will ride the 50 mile course for Unbound Gravel. I am asking friends to donate $50 (or any amount you choose) to encourage me on my ride or help me celebrate the completion of my 50 by 50.
As most of you know by now, I am the director of Southwick House, a transitional housing facility being built in Emporia that will serve Lyon county and 7 other nearby counties. Construction has begun on the site, and while I'm not much help on the job site, I thought I could put in a different kind of sweat equity by dedicating my 50-mile Unbound Ride to raising funds for Southwick House.
The story of 50 by 50:
Several years ago I set myself a goal to ride 50 miles at Unbound Gravel. This was part of a bigger goal where I challenged myself to do 50 new things before I turned 50. I called it 50 by 50, and Unbound was to be the culmination of an endeavor to push myself to get uncomfortable, consider my perspective on what my life could be, and to take intentional steps to the future that I hoped for.
I appreciate any support offered, or if you'd just like to come cheer me on as a cross the finish line, that would be awesome too. It may be a slow ride that takes all day, but I'm determined to cross the finish line.
