Meeting at the back of Calke explore car park for 10:20 to set off for 10:30 taking in around the grounds to the old tramway tunnel and Limestone quarry before visiting the Abbey grounds itself which include the church and walled gardens before going through the tunnel down to the deer enclosure and Grotto.It costs £7 per person for parking and more if you want to go in the house unless you are a national trust member.
*** PLEASE BRING A HEADTORCH FOR THE TUNNELS UNLESS YOU ARE OK USING YOUR PHONE.
I will schedule in a break of about 30 minutes to an hour at the Abbey itself so people can have a wander round and also get refreshments from the cafe, or just bring your own and eat it on front of the house.
After the break we will continue back around the old church, walled garden then through the 2nd tunnel to the deer enclosure and Grotto before walking back to the Calke explore via Deer Cote Spinney.
