The perennial holiday favorite returns to the Capitol via a restored 35mm film print directly from the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. James Stewart stars in producer/director Frank Capra’s fantasy which explores the life of a troubled business man in a small city in upstate New York who, while on the brink of suicide, is given the chance to see what the world would have been like if he had never been born. Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore, Henry Travers, Ward Bond, Gloria Grahame, Thomas Mitchell, and H.B. Warner lead the supporting cast.The screenings at the Capitol represent the only chances to see this classic movie via a 35mm film print in an actual movie palace anywhere in the state of New York this season!
Friday's 7:00 show will be preceded by a special theater organ performance beginning at 6:30.
