Take a musical journey through time with the Capital Ringers, Delmarva’s community handbell ensemble. Their Bach to the Future performances will transport you from the Baroque era through the Land of Oz and on to the present.
“Our spring concert season, Bach to the Future, plays off the idea of being transported throughout time,” says Artistic Director Kevin B. Chamberlain. “But lucky for us, we do not all have to cram into a 1980s DeLorean to hear iconic works from the 17th, 20th and 21st centuries.”
Besides a Bach prelude and fugue, the concert features Led Zeppelin, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and movie themes. Yes, there is a handbells version of “Stairway to Heaven.”
The ensemble will only perform four times this spring. Tickets, $20 for adults over 18, can be purchased online at https://www.capitalringers.org/bach-to-the-future. Attendees 18 and under are free.
