For more than 50 years, riders have gathered here for the Capital City Century — one of Illinois’ longest-running cycling traditions.
And in 2026, that tradition meets another legendary milestone…

The 54th Annual Capital City Century will celebrate the centennial of the Mother Road, with routes that take riders through the Capitals surrounding countryside — including connections to historic Route 66.
Choose your ride:

đźš´ 66 Mile Route (a tribute to Route 66)
đźš´ 40 Mile Route
đźš´ 20 Mile Route
All routes start and finish at the Sherman Athletic Club and include:
✔️ Well-stocked rest stops
✔️ SAG support on the route
✔️ Mechanical support at the start/finish
