Foxton, we’re heading your way for a very special cavy day under the Matariki stars!Join Capital Cavy Club & NZCC on Saturday 6th June 2026 at Coley Street School Hall, Foxton for a friendly, fun-filled Pet & Pedigree Guinea Pig Show. Whether you’re an experienced exhibitor, a proud pet owner, a guinea pig-loving whānau, or someone who is simply curious about what happens at a cavy show, you are warmly welcome to come along.
This is a great day out for cavy lovers of all ages, with pet and pedigree classes, fun specials, raffles, sales table goodies, free health checks and nail trims, and plenty of friendly guinea pig chat throughout the day.
The Pedigree Show is a chance to see beautiful cavies shown to breed standards, with different breeds, coat types and colours on display. It’s a great opportunity to learn from experienced exhibitors and meet people who are passionate about guinea pigs.
The Pet Show starts at 2:00pm and is a wonderful place for beginners to get involved. You don’t need a pedigree guinea pig to enter — clean, healthy, much-loved pets are very welcome! Pet classes are relaxed, friendly and fun, with lots of encouragement for first-time exhibitors.

Celebrate the Māori New Year with cavy-safe outfits or displays inspired by stars, whānau, whenua, reflection, connection and new beginnings. We can’t wait to see your thoughtful, creative ideas. Please make sure all costumes and props are safe, comfortable, breathable and stress-free for your guinea pig.

Judging begins at 10:00am
Pet Show starts at 2:00pm
New to showing? Please don’t be shy - come and say hello! Our club members are always happy to help with grooming tips, nail clipping, show-day questions, and getting your guinea pig ready for the bench.
A few helpful things to bring if you’re entering: a secure carrier, hay, water or watery vegetables, a small grooming kit if you have one, and anything your guinea pig needs to feel calm and comfortable during the day. Please only bring guinea pigs who are healthy and well.
Bring your cavies, bring the whānau, or just pop in for a look. We’d love to see you in Foxton for a warm, welcoming day with the cavy community. 💙
