About this Event

Overview

Discover Cantonese Culture Through a Native Speaker’s Lens! 🇭🇰 ✨

Ever wondered about the fascinating stories behind classic Cantonese slang, the strict "do’s and don’ts" of traditional festivals, or what an authentic Chinese wedding really entails? Join us at the San Jose Learning Center for an immersive, multi-part workshop series that goes far beyond the language textbook!

Each session in this series operates as a standalone workshop at $20 per class, allowing you to drop in for individual topics or join us for the whole journey. Plus, your initial workshop fee acts as an investment in your learning— each $20 ticket can be applied as a discount toward tuition for future multi-week group language courses at SJLC! (Limit one $20 discount per future course registration).

Led by Hong Kong native Tommy—who brings decades of experience living and working across Hong Kong, London, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen—this series bridges the gap between East and West to give you an authentic insider perspective.

All are welcome—no prior knowledge of Cantonese is required.
