Come and join us for a weekend of music and dance from the Balfolk and Breton traditions.
Friday Night, from 7pm -
Potluck supper and session in the barn. All welcome - bring instruments and food to share.
Saturday Night, Main Dance -
6.30pm - Beginners dance workshop
7-8pm - Food in the farm yard - Beef & veg. and vegan stews for sale - £5/bowl - includes bread and cheese
(please bring your own food for all other meals if camping)
8pm - Dancing with our two amazing bands
Wod and Venn
End - When we can't stay up any longer
We are very excited to have both of these great bands playing for us this year!
WOD - Fiddle player Jane Griffiths and Anglo-Concertinist Jim Penny have spent the last decade exploring their shared passion for the beautiful music of Brittany. The result is Wod, a duo dedicated to playing Breton music for dance. Captivated by the subtle complexity of traditional Breton melodies, Jane and Jim seek to bring out the joyful connection between musicians and dancers that leads to what flute player Jean-Michel Veillon calls 'the common trance'.
VENN - Venn brings the vibrant sound of French and Breton balfolk to life with bagpipes, flutes, hurdy-gurdy, accordion, strings and driving rhythms. Based in Gloucestershire, the band features talented musicians Mike Smith on hurdy-gurdy and guitar, Ken Lush on electric bass, Julian Scott on flutes and bagpipes and Marcus Scott on diatonic accordion, blending traditional and original tunes into energetic, feel-good performances that get dancers moving and audiences smiling.
Acoustic floor session after the bands - All welcome to play - Fire pit outside the barn
Camping is free of charge - Friday - Monday
BRING YOUR OWN BOOZE - Free hot drinks
Open session on Sunday with whoever is still around.
This is a working farm with dogs and livestock so consider that if bringing a dog.
*** Tickets are £17 per person on the door - Under 16's free ***
