Candy was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in 2018 and was given 18 months to live. Refusing to accept this prognosis, Candy has displayed remarkable strength and determination in her fight against cancer. With the support of a dedicated team of doctors at the City of Hope in Zion, Illinois and Mayo Clinic in La Crosse, she has undergone an array of treatments, including radiation, chemotherapy, and clinical trials. Despite the grueling treatments, Candy has remained unwavering in her commitment to a healthy lifestyle, staying active with her children and grandchildren. Now, Candy is embarking on an alternative therapy care plan. This treatment option offers hope but is not covered by insurance, presenting a significant financial challenge.
