Candy Cane Lane with YWCA Utah
About this Event
Join Maven for an afternoon of connection through service. 🤍
This December, we’re inviting the Maven community to come together and volunteer with YWCA Utah’s Candy Cane Lane, a holiday pop-up store brought to life through contributions from the local community.
Candy Cane Lane provides gifts and winter essentials to survivors living in YWCA Utah’s shelter and transitional housing and will run December 9–12.
We’ll be volunteering together on Friday, December 11 from 9:30 AM–12:30 PM at YWCA Utah in Salt Lake City.
This opportunity is free to participate in, with the option to make a donation directly to YWCA Utah to further support their work.

About YWCA Utah
YWCA Utah is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. YWCA Utah is part of the oldest and largest women’s movement, and since 1906 local programs have grown to include education and job training for women, teen clubs, community dialogues on race relations, an early education center, a youth resource center, aquatics programs, and shelter and support services for survivors of domestic violence.
What to know before volunteering
Volunteers will meet at the Peter M. and Paula Green Johnson Building at YWCA Utah, 322 E 300 S.
Please wear comfortable clothing you can move around in and closed-toed shoes. Some areas may be dusty, so wear something you don’t mind getting a little dirty.
When you arrive, you’ll be asked to read and sign an Agreement of Confidentiality to help protect the privacy and safety of the people YWCA Utah serves. Your on-site supervisor will also provide a lanyard, which should remain visible throughout your volunteer shift.
Parking
Free street parking is available on 300 E and 300 S for up to two hours.
For longer stays, paid parking is available a short walk away at 262 E Broadway.
The on-campus parking lot is reserved for YWCA Utah staff and residents. If you need a parking accommodation, please let the team know in advance.
Because nearby parking is limited, carpooling is strongly encouraged.
This is part of Maven's community gatherings, which are offered on a donation basis to keep them accessible. Your contribution to this event will go directly to the YWCA.
You're warmly welcome to invite loved ones who may benefit from joining and explore our other gatherings through our profile.
