Join Canon Adam Bucko, Abbot of the Community of the Incarnation, for an evening of stillness, silence, and attentiveness to God’s presence. This gathering is open to all, whether you’re new to contemplative prayer or have practiced for years.

Canon Adam, in his new role as Sub Dean of the Cathedral of the Incarnation, offers a fresh direction for this role at the Cathedral. Adam is bringing the position into new territory with a primary focus on supporting our community’s prayer life and spiritual formation—complementing the pastoral care already offered by our clergy.

Drawing on his experience as abbot of a monastic community birthed here at the Cathedral (now serving people across the country), Canon Adam brings a deep commitment to contemplative practice as the foundation of our common life. His vision is rooted in a simple conviction: intimacy with God is not reserved for a few, but is the birthright of every person.

Each candlelit evening will draw on the sacred atmosphere of our cathedral—a space shaped by generations of prayer—with gentle guidance into silence and receptivity.

What to expect: Candlelit worship designed to invite you into deeper contemplation and dwelling in God’s presence. No experience necessary—just come as you are.

Follow-up opportunity: After each gathering, appointment times will be available for one-on-one conversations with Canon Adam about prayer and spiritual life. These optional sessions offer support for your personal journey toward intimacy with God.
