The performance will also be streamed live at https://trinityumcpt.org/concerts/ where you will find a link for the Candlelight Concerts Online and ways to donate. The concert will also be simulcast on KPTZ FM 91.9.
Admission to the concert is free (really!), with a suggested donation of $15 per person. You are most welcome to attend whether you choose to donate or not. Half of the donation proceeds from this concert will go to McAnally and McConnell’s chosen charity, the Jefferson County Foodbank.
Jill and Kevin play Americana, Western swing, old timey country, blues & originals, and even some folk or Beatles and standards. Though this is an all-originals concert. They will be joined by Thom Barkes, a multi-talented musician and great harmony singer. Claudia Neva, a talented fiddler and singer in her own right, will be doing harmonies in this show.
Jill has been performing since she was 16 all over the western part of the United States. She won the Gong Show and was called up to sing on stage with Doc Watson and has opened for the Burrito Brothers and garnered praises from Don Everly. Kevin’s been in bands since he was 10. His last band was a 9-piece Western swing band for 9 years before hooking up with Jill. Jill & Kevin have been performing together for almost 10 years and for the last 4 years here in Port Townsend.
Thom Barkes was born and raised into a West Seattle household full of music. He played the bass in country, blues and western swing bands for the next 45 years in Bellingham, Austin, the Bay Area, Keystone, Nebraska, Seattle and Port Townsend. Thom now lives in Port Townsend and has been playing the dobro, steel guitar and resonator lap steel as well as the bass regularly over the last 11 years. He really shines on the bass!
Claudia Neva has lived in Port Townsend since 1974. She started playing violin in 4th grade and a few years later she got interested in fiddle tunes and that was the beginning. She is also a great singer and will be gracing us with her lovely harmonies in this show! Since the late 1970s she has played in several local bands: Loose Caboose, The Flying Cowpies, Pies On The Run, and Reach for the Sky.
Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 609 Taylor Street, across from the Community Center, in Uptown. Attendees should plan on arriving early – doors will open at 6:30. Masks are encouraged for in-person attendees.
