Candlelight Concert - Eric Kosarot

Trinity United Methodist’s Candlelight Concerts host Eric Kosarot, a local guitarist/banjo musician who will be performing his original compositions at the Candlelight Concert series at Trinity United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 24th at 7:00 PM for one set with no intermission. 

The performance will also be streamed live at https://trinityumcpt.org/concerts where you will find a link for the Candlelight Concerts Online and ways to donate. The concert will also be simulcast on KPTZ FM 91.9. 

Admission to the concert is free (really!), with a suggested donation $15 per person. You are most welcome to attend whether you choose to donate or not. Half of the proceeds from this concert will go to Kosarot’s chosen charity, The Dove House, whose mission is to “empower victims ​of crime and abuse in Jefferson County ​through education, advocacy, ​and crisis intervention.”

For this concert, Kosarot will be playing his original songs on guitar, harmonica, banjo and fiddle. The songs will range from traditional old-time tunes to Sea-Shanties and Gospel music. In addition, he will be reading from a collection of original nature poems

Kosarot was raised in a musical family. As a little boy, his father played guitar as his son fell sleep and his mom took him to church where they sang hymns and gospels together. Kosarot started learning to play piano at age 12 and then in high school learned to play the guitar, tenor saxophone and jazz band guitar. From high school on, he’s been involved in many bands and more recently in various old-time jam groups hosted at homes, venues, and festivals around the Pacific Northwest.

Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 609 Taylor Street, across from the Community Center, in Uptown. Attendees should plan on arriving early – doors will open at 6:30. Masks are encouraged for in-person attendees.
