Join us for the Cancer Sciences Symposium 2026, featuring our Thursday evening launch of the Department of Cancer Sciences followed by our Friday full-day symposium programme. This year, our symposium focuses on collaborative research with translational impact. We welcome you to register for either or both days of this event.

Our new Head of Cancer Sciences, Associate Professor Ben Lawrence will set out his vision Towards a Comprehensive Cancer Centre, followed by an opportunity to network over rinks and canapés.

Our full-day programme features a rich array of speakers and panellists, headlined by keynote speaker Dr Peter Savas (Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne), who will speak to his research, the role of collaboration in advancing cancer science, and the value of fostering clinician–scientist partnerships.

Info: Join us on Thursday, 23 July, from 5.30 - 7.30 pm at the University of Auckland's Grafton Campus (Lecture Theatre 505-007, 85 Park Road) as Associate Professor Ben Lawrence, our new Head of Cancer Sciences, sets out his vision 'Towards a Comprehensive Cancer Centre'.
