Cancer Awareness Messaging Workshop
About this Event
As part of our Small Steps, Better Health – Early Action on Cancer Pilot, we're inviting local people to come along and help us shape how we talk about cancer awareness, screening and early diagnosis in our communities.
We want to make sure the messages we use are clear, relatable and actually work for the people we're trying to reach – and we need your help to get them right.
This will be a friendly and interactive workshop where we'll work together to:
- Look at the words, messages and images that work – and those that don't
- Explore what might stop people engaging with cancer information or attending screening
- Think about how we can make messages clearer, more relatable and less frightening
- Discuss the best ways to share information within our communities
- Create and test messages that people would actually stop and pay attention to
- Help shape the publicity and materials for our upcoming community events
You don't need any medical knowledge or previous experience to take part. We want to hear your views, ideas and experiences and understand what would work for you, your family and your community.
Most importantly, what you tell us won't just stay in the room. Your ideas will directly shape the messages and materials we use throughout the Small Steps, Better Health campaign.
It's FREE to attend and refreshments will be provided.
Come along, have your say and help us create cancer awareness messages with our communities, not just for them.
