CANADA HILL, with BEELINES and PROJECT CULTURERedstart Community are delighted to bring experienced local band CANADA HILL to the “Mall Sessions” with support from the effervesent THE BEELINES and classy PROJECT CULTURE
CANADA HILL
are a high-energy indie rock three-piece known for their gritty sound, sharp songwriting, and relentless live ethic. Formed in 2023 by frontman Alex Hungerford, the band quickly found its core with drummer/backing vocalist Harriet Kemp and bassist Lu Palladino. Together, they’ve crafted a sound that fuses the raw urgency of garage rock with the melodic sensibility of classic British songwriting, echoing the likes of Fontaines D.C., The Pixies, and early Radiohead.
Rooted in a DIY ethos, Canada Hill record and produce all their music in their home studio in Redhill, Surrey. Their tracks are tight, emotionally charged, and unapologetically loud—anchored by blistering guitars, locked-in rhythm sections, and layered vocals that swing from defiant to vulnerable in a heartbeat. Each song is tracked live, capturing the chemistry that’s earned them a reputation as one of the tightest new live acts on the circuit.
With more music on the way, an expanding fanbase, and a deep catalogue of unreleased originals, Canada Hill are just getting started.
THE BEELINES
The Beelines write original, lyric driven, hook laden, classic 70’s punk edged, modernist guitar pop. They are known for their blistering live sets and regularly play gigs and festivals across London and the South delivering energetic and engaging performances. Think Blur, The Jam, The Kinks, The Clash.
Support slots have included The Rifles, The Vapors, The Chords, Squire, Sham 69, London Calling and Chris Difford (Squeeze) amongst others.
Four single releases have been well received and played on local and internet radio stations. “This is a Secret” released on World Mental Health Day also featured on television.
In 2024 they released the completely DIY album "Straight Up" and they are currently recording their follow album.
PROJECT CULTURE
Project Culture are a 4-piece Art Rock band from London. Just as inspired by books, films, theatre and stand-up comedy as they are by indie rock, the band live up to their name by drawing from a wide range of pop culture – be it ‘high’ or ‘low’ culture – to create something truly their own. They have been praised by BBC Introducing for their “post-punk energy and the sense of urgency in the songwriting”, with lead singer Gary Hill also being commended for his ability to “address and transform clichés into original turns of phrase” in his lyrics, deconstructing and re-purposing everything from old idioms to banal self-help phrases in an effort to make something new and cathartic out of them.
