Canada Builds Modern Summit 2026
About this Event
Oct 7 & 8, 2026
2026 Summit Overview
The is growing into a two-day national gathering focused on moving housing innovation from promising ideas to projects that can be delivered at scale.
Build Canada Homes will play a central role in this year’s Summit, joining housing delivery partners from across the country to connect national ambition with the practical realities of building homes in communities. Their participation will bring an important national perspective to the conversations, partnerships and actions emerging from the event.
Building on the extraordinary response to last year’s Summit, this year’s expanded program will feature more keynotes, project showcases, working sessions and opportunities for meaningful exchange. Participants will explore real-world lessons from a wide range of housing models—from complex urban infill developments to timber modular construction—with a practical focus on reducing costs, accelerating delivery and producing sustainable, high-quality factory-built housing.
Two new initiatives will deepen and broaden the conversation. The Young Innovators Program will engage and inspire the next generation of housing leaders, connecting emerging talent with experienced practitioners and new ideas with the institutions capable of advancing them. The Within Reach Workshop will offer participants a more intensive, hands-on exploration of a methodology for advancing housing solutions, helping teams identify barriers, align partners and turn ambition into an actionable path toward delivery.
The Summit will convene the full housing ecosystem on a national scale: policymakers, builders, designers, manufacturers, financiers, regulators, community housing organizations and emerging leaders. Together, participants will examine the conditions that determine whether housing gets built—including site readiness, financing, regulatory alignment, manufacturing capacity and design excellence.
The Summit will culminate in a 12-Month Roadmap for Scaling Housing Delivery in Canada: a practical agenda capturing the most important actions, partnerships and near-term opportunities identified over the two days.
The goal is to leave not only with new knowledge and stronger connections, but with a shared path for turning cross-sector momentum into more affordable, factory-built housing in communities across Canada.
This is more than a conversation about what might be possible. It is an opportunity to learn from projects already underway, confront the barriers limiting broader adoption, build the relationships needed to act and establish clear priorities for the year ahead.
