William Busta Projects and Maria Neil Art Projects co-host the debut and networking event for the Spring 2026 issue of CAN Journal, during March Walk All Over Waterloo. In this issue, you'll meet the extraordinary glass artist Brent Kee Young, whose work is pictured on the cover. Broadening the conversation fellows Olivia Began (CSU) and Sarah Frisbie (CWRU) respectively introduce recently appointed Ingenuity director Susie Underwood and SPACES director Pita Brooks. Jo Steigerwald profiles Assembly for the Arts' Deidre McPherson. You'll find an Open Letter to the Middle Art Powers of the Great Lakes, inspired by Canadian Prime Minister Carney's address at the World Economic Forum in Davos. And of course dozens of galleries, studios and museums preview their Spring exhibitions.
The Spring launch coincides with exhibitions in the Gold Building, and all along Waterloo, during the neighborhood's monthly Art Walk.
At William Busta Projects, CAN Journal editor Michael Gill exhibits woodcut and letterpress prints and the artist book, Momentum Like Diamonds.
At Maria Neil Art Project, Rick Rollenhagen exhibits figurative abstraction in carved stone.
