Campfire Conversations: Leadership | The Leader You Think You Should Be
About this Event
Many leaders are carrying an unspoken set of expectations about how they should lead.
These might include the always-confident leader, the leader with all the answers, or the leader who never struggles, never slows down, and never lets anyone down.
Some of these expectations come from previous bosses. Others come from corporate culture, hustle culture, gender expectations, perfectionism, or survival strategies that once served us well. Over time, they can become so familiar that we stop questioning them.
But what if some of the leadership expectations we're carrying no longer fit? What if the leader you've been trying to be isn't actually the leader you want to be?
Leading from a place of performance rather than authenticity can be exhausting. It can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, uncertain of our own leadership style, and stuck trying to live up to standards we never consciously chose.
- What is the difference between the leader you think you should be and the leader you want to be?
- Which expectations are helping you lead well, and which ones are draining you?
- What might become possible if leadership felt less like a performance and more like an authentic expression of who you are?
Campfire Conversations are guided outdoor gatherings for thoughtful professionals navigating career and leadership challenges. They are not networking events, workshops, or support groups. Instead, they are a space for honest conversation, reflection, and shared exploration.
Together, we'll explore what it means to let go of inherited expectations and lead in a way that feels more authentic, sustainable, and true to you.
Come as you are. Bring your experiences, your questions, and your curiosity.
