Camilla Reid is the author of bestselling, award-winning children’s books, specialising in early years literature. Her hugely popular series, including ‘Pip and Posy’, ‘Peekaboo,’ are designed to engage families and foster a love of reading. This year she became Book Trust’s Writer in Residence, and she used her tenure to raise awareness of the importance and benefits of shared reading in the early years.
With a 30-year career as a children's editor and 20 years as an author, Camilla shares her insights into co-founding Nosy Crow, the pioneering, multi-award-winning children's publisher, on developing ideas, and the submission process. She offers advice on what publishers seek, whether to get an agent, and tips for aspiring authors, while addressing common mistakes to avoid. The event will be followed by a Q&A session.
Wantage Bookshop will have a selection of her children’s books for sale after the event.
