Coventry Sphinx FC who are supporting The Slater Family, who lost their son Cameron Slater to a cardiac arrest whilst he was asleep. Cameron age 23 was a healthy and fit young man with no underlying health issues. After staying up playing darts and watching tv He went to bed on the 13th March 2024 and never woke up.
We now support a charity called CRY, Cardiac Risk in the Young. We raise money to have Young adults screened for any underlying health issues, saving lives. Coventry Sphinx have a game on this day and instead of charging an entrance fee they are asking for donations no matter how big or small which they will put towards Camerons Cause where every penny goes into supporting CRY and buying defibrillators for local sports clubs.
