Book the Destroy Room in ‘Camera Obsolete?’ and confront the collapse of photography’s mechanical era at Belfast Photo Festival.
About this Event

‘Camera Obsolete?’ is a participatory installation and major public exhibition confronting the collapse of photography’s mechanical era. Conceived and produced by Belfast Photo Festival, the exhibition invites audiences to destroy, dismantle, recast or resist the transformation of obsolete cameras into new sculptural forms.

This listing is for the Destroy Room, a ticketed 18+ activity within the exhibition.

Participants can wield hammers and take part in the controlled destruction of obsolete cameras and photographic equipment. Bring your own camera or choose one of the hundreds available on display.

The resulting fragments and objects will remain on display throughout the exhibition and will ultimately inform a permanent public sculpture for Belfast Botanic Gardens.

Advance booking is strongly advised, with walk-in places only subject to availability.
