Mental health in the workplace for managers

When is it?

Tuesday 3rd December 2024 - 9:30am-1:00pm

Who is it for?

This course is aimed at anyone who may support colleagues in the workplace in relation to their mental health, particularly employees with people-management responsibilities.

How long is the session?

3.5 hours including short breaks.

What will I learn?

Delivered through a range of activities and case studies, modules covered are:

• What is mental health?
• What is mental illness?
• Mental illness in the workplace
• Management tools - how to complete a stress risk assessment according to the Health and Safety Executive's standards, the role of wellbeing plans at work, and how to explore and make reasonable adjustments in relation to mental health
• Communication - How to have a supportive conversation with someone about their mental health, in a workplace context
• Self-care and ways of role-modelling this
