Calm in the Wild

Ranger Gabriel Alverez was born and raised in south Florida. He has been studying environmental science for 8 years. His dream is to someday have a preserve named after him.

Ranger Alverez will be speaking about the health benefits humans gain from being outdoors in nature in order to encourage public health and ecotourism. Using primary academic resources, he will explain the physiological and mental changes brought about by time in nature. For example, one of the main benefits wilderness has on humans is stress relief, which could be used for treatment of physiological or emotional deficiencies.
