Calling Home, Across Geographies & Generations: London
About this Event
What makes home "home" — even if you're far away from it?
Join us on Saturday, October 24 at Curzon Bloomsbury for a special night of short documentaries exploring the themes of belonging, identity, and displacement.
Doors open at 5:30pm for light bites and mingling. Stick around after the screening for a Q&A with the filmmakers, moderated by acclaimed journalist Suyin Haynes.
Featuring:
- War & Honey, directed by Matthew Ritenour
- El Regreso, directed by Samantha Ramirez-Herrera
- Jacob’s House, directed by Lucas Kane
- Taking Back Our Homes, directed by Sarah Spiller & William Davies
From Ukrainian soldiers struggling to reintegrate into society, to a DREAMER returning to Mexico and all she left behind, to an exploration of what defines a house, and locals pushing back against tourist rental properties, these stories offer a moving look at what it means to find, leave, and fight for home.
